This road that twists and upward turns,
Scars the land that scorched and burnt,
Many beasts have passed this way,
But few would pass at highest day,
The prize that's sought at every ridge,
Is beyond our reach but still we seek,
We journey on our rugged path,
Where sand and rocks strike thorny lust,
The sea that beats the rocky coast,
Looks cold and fresh to mouths that rust,
A sip from flask it barely touched,
So journey on indeed we must.

Sunday 7 October 2012

My restless soul won't sleep tonight,
My restless soul won't wait,
Until the coming of heathens night,
Until star upon star sheds light,
The day is dark in any case,
The shadows guide his way,
When a breathe of hot desire,
Floods the waking day,
Through this sea of dreams,
My soul ploughs fearlessly,
Restlessly it steers,
The path the body feared.

Return Of The Setting Sun

Heavens beam,
To sea I stare,
Quench my thirst with salty air,
My thoughts console a distant friend,
Whose time with us is soon to end:
Before you hide behind that cloud,
That tends and puts your fire out,
Allow me just another glimpse,
From burning well I long to drink,
Now another world appears,
With your strength I’ll have no fear,
It seems I’m now alone in peace,
No other faith but pure release,
Our red hearts drum in tandem beats,
I’ll wait for you,
Look to the east.

My Disillusioned View

Soaring prices for a room and a bed,
Give me bamboo, leaves and a deck,
Dispose of new luxuries, candle light, low rent,
My guests will fly free of course,
No small talk, they'll feast on my flesh,
You ever see a man smile while he hangs?
Just find a rhythm, with an eye on the ground,
Hours of wisdom lost in a cloud,
A multitude of questions unravel and compound,
Char-grilled pizzas, raw eggs and spam,
Adjusted to my taste, but that’s not why I came,
Always an expert bringing me down,
Consider happiness in my uncomplicated land,
Talk to me freedom, show me your plan,
My fate is your pleasure, if I can just hang around,
Watch the lights flicker, I’ll count them in sand,
Arrest me with flora, take the sap from my hand.

Crimson Tear

A crimson tear,
Rolled down my face,
Dropped off my lip,
Left its taste,
She looked shocked,
As the crimson tear,
That held my life,
Raced through the air,
Made no sound, as we fell,
Through the earth,
Inside, I yelled,
What have you done?
My heart was yours,
The seconds pause,
As the crimson tear,
Disappears,
Now the well sank deep,
And the lake grew wide,
As my body died,
I walked away,
She cried to stay,
But shed made her choice,
In haste,
Her anger voiced.

Guardian

Tell me about your problems,
My shoulders broad defence,
Hold my hand I’ll help you,
Beat the dragon down,
No worldly beasts will scare me,
No ghosts affect my shield,
If it’s vengeance that you’re after,
I’ll serve you with my steel.

In your darkest moment,
 When hope cast you aside,
In my arms I suggest you shelter,
I’m not the type to hide,
I’m not the type to shudder,
When most would feel alarmed,
I know not my own limitations,
Believe magic powers to hand,
Believe I am a messenger,
Alive and here profound.

King Of The Sea

Looks like rain, it’s not too wet,
Feels more like, a wash instead,
Feels more like… it washed right through my head,
Washed right through my head,
My paths a trap, a slippery trap,
Might just slide along, skim not stack,
Looks like rain, I’ve seen worse,
Saw a floatin’ lake, fall of its perch,
The fish came with it, weeds got stuck between my teeth,
The river ran straight up, in upside town,
Drops ran straight up, can’t hold them down,
That water went straight up, while the clouds sat on the ground,
Your clothes won’t make it, get skin out,
Clothes can’t shield you, or rebound the showers,
Tight pink leather suit, rebounds the showers,
Here comes more rain, on the breeze,
Rests before, it hits the streets,
Drip on me? You cheeky tree,
Try that again, and I’ll take your leaves,
Try and test me, I’ll strip you of your leaves,
Did I mention my position? Mighty King of the Sea!
Come on taste my trident, let Poseidon lick you clean,
My damp heart beats, the rhythm of rain,
My damp heart beats, like machine gun rounds,
I take my power, feed the green,
Taste my power, mighty King of the Sea.
